5 Ways to Stay Focused In Lockdown
By Amy Aylett
So, lockdown is upon us once again. We know how hard it can be, but we have done it before and so we know we can do it again.
"Focus on the present – you can only do your best with what you have today."
Here are 5 ways to keep focused during the impending lockdown:
#1. Each day, write down 3 things you are grateful for.
Practicing gratitude has many benefits, including, improvements to our mental health. Noticing what we already have rather than what we don’t have, can make us feel more positive about our lives!
#2. Set goals: big or small, but make them manageable and achievable.
Set month long goals. These can be big or small, but make sure they are manageable as well as achievable. They can be business related or personal! Goals keep us focused, which is what we need!
#3. Plan out your day, your week or the month.
Planning reduces procrastination. You are also 2-3 times more likely to achieve your goals! By writing down a plan for the day and tasks you need to complete, you will easily stay focused and you will get stuff done!
#4. Get your thoughts out of your mind and on to paper, keep a journal if you need to!
Journaling is an incredible stress management tool. It helps us to organise our thoughts and make them apprehensible. Journaling can improve your mood and give an overall sense of happiness.
#5. Reflect on your achievements, daily!
Each night, reflect on your achievements from the day. Small wins or big wins, they should all be acknowledged. Without reflection, it’s too easy to focus on our failures. Which will not help anyone!
